The Monastery is thrilled to announce this Medical Detection Dogs Live event, for the first demo of its kind in the north of England!

Super sniffers

Building upon the success of their first ever Super Sniffers Live Roadshow in Bristol back in June, this Manchester event continues to take charity, Medical Detection Dogs’ mission on the road. They’re determined to reach members of the public keen to learn more about their work and witness some of their amazing dogs in action.

16 years saving & enhancing lives

Join us at the Monastery Manchester, for an extraordinary event celebrating the remarkable work of Medical Detection Dogs as they enter their 16th year of charitable service. Their ongoing mission is to save and enhance lives using the incredible power of the dog’s nose.

A gentler diagnostic technique

The charity trains dogs to detect the odour of human diseases, leading to faster, more efficient, and less invasive diagnostic techniques. Additionally, this brilliant organisation provides specialised Medical Alert Assistance dogs to individuals with life-threatening conditions. These are clients who have no awareness of potentially life-threatening, oncoming medical episodes, including those living with POTS, Addison’s disease, and severe allergies.

Live medical detection dog demo & talk

Whether you’ve been to a Medical Detection Dogs talk before or are hearing about it for the first time, this event is for you! Learn about the amazing work of Medical Detection Dogs and see the bio-detection dogs in action as they demonstrate their ability to sniff out diseases like cancer, Parkinson’s, and pseudomonas. You’ll also have the chance to hear directly from an active client* about the impact of having a medical alert assistance dog.

*Please be aware that due to the nature of the conditions the clients live with they may need to attend via a video link, and there is a minor chance they will need to cancel at the last minute*

Do I need any experience with dogs, or any special clothes or equipment?

None whatsoever, this event is open to all.

When?

11am – 1pm on Thursday, 14th November, 2024.

The event will last approximately 2 hours with a break in the middle.

Tickets are £10 per person, with optional additional donation available and group and student discounts available upon request.
