A Recitation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with Mulled Wine & Mince Pies

Join us for a cosy storytelling session of Charles Dickens’ classic Victorian tale, A Christmas Carol, whilst warming up for Christmas with spicy mulled wine or festive fruit punch with warm mince pies served during the interval – mmm!


What can I expect?

This special, Victorian-themed event is an absolute must for Dickens fans, as narrator, Finlay Tyson, brings the story of scrooge – with its touching, timeless message of the power of kindness (and the ugliness of greed & selfishness) – to life.

Sit back, relax and enjoy this traditional classic with family or friends in the stunning setting of the Great Nave, with time to enjoy and explore the Monastery’s heritage and special festive atmosphere before the reading.

Will there be an interval?

Oh yes! Dickens’ tale will be narrated in two x 45-minute parts, with an interval in between to feast on mince pies” and enjoy a Christmas tipple.*

*Alcohol free and vegan options will be available.


When?

1.30 – 3.30/4pm, Wednesday, 10th December, 2025

*Doors Open at 1.15pm


Is this a family friendly event?

Yes it is indeed, children over 7 years-old are welcome, as are aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandads, mums and dads.
