Celebrate Repair Week 2026 with Greater Manchester’s Repair Café Network

12-3pm, Sunday 8th March, 2026

Join us at The Monastery Manchester for RepairFest 2026, a special community event celebrating sustainability, repair and reuse as part of Greater Manchester Repair Week.

For one day only, all nine Repair Cafés from across Greater Manchester will come together in the magnificent surroundings of the Great Nave, offering free (or very low cost) repairs, demonstrations and opportunities to learn practical skills that help reduce waste and extend the life of everyday items.

Whether you have something in need of repair, or are simply curious to learn more, everyone is warmly welcome.

Bring Your Items and Learn How to Repair Them

Visitors are invited to bring along small household items to be repaired with the help of experienced volunteers and repair specialists.

You can bring:

• Electrical items
• Mechanical items
• Bicycles
• Clothing and textiles
• Computers and small electronics

Repairs are offered free of charge, and wherever possible, volunteers will share their knowledge so you can learn how to repair items yourself.

Throughout the afternoon, there will also be live demonstrations showcasing a range of repair skills.

Discover Greater Manchester’s Repair Café Movement

RepairFest is not only about fixing things, it’s about building a culture of sustainability, sharing skills and strengthening community connections.

The event will also include a dedicated networking space where visitors can learn more about Repair Cafés, meet volunteers, and find out how to get involved or even start a Repair Café in their own community.

By repairing instead of replacing, we can save money, reduce waste, and help protect the environment.

Launching The Monastery Repair Café

RepairFest 2026 also marks an exciting milestone as The Monastery joins Greater Manchester’s thriving Repair Café network.

Our regular Repair Café will run at The Monastery:

• Every second Wednesday of the month
• Every last Sunday of the month
• From 12:00pm to 2:00pm

These sessions will offer ongoing opportunities for the community to repair items, share skills and connect.

As Trust Manager Viv Andrews explains:

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do here at the Monastery. We are thrilled to be joining Manchester’s Repair Café network and helping our community save money and resources by repairing and reusing everyday items.”
