Things to do at Manchester Monastery
With Monastery tours, orchestral performances, events outdoors and in, family activities and wellbeing events, and simply having somewhere to meet or unwind – there is something for everyone.
Visit The Monastery and discover what we do best - stage outstanding events in one of the most remarkable places to visit in Manchester.
Manchester Monastery is open to the public on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week between 10am and 4pm.
The Monastery is closed to visitors every Friday and Saturday when we host exclusive weddings, dinners and private events. These events help to provide an income to maintain and conserve our precious heritage site.
The Great Nave is closed on the 1st Sunday of the month for a well-being event. This event is £10 to attend. See the MOMM event for further details. The rest of The Monastery is still open, but access to the Great Nave will be limited for those not attending the event.
Occasionally, we must close the nave for special events. Please check availability before travelling.
We will be adding events in the coming weeks. Come back to see what’s on.
Note to editors: You can’t edit from here. Select ‘Events’ from the list in the left hand black margin. You’ll see the published events in there. Click on the ‘Add New’ box at the top to add a new event.
For changing the top line in the headline (‘in the Monastery’ is hard coded), go to ‘Options’ in left hand black margin, where you’ll see the existing line in the box headed ‘Events diary page title’.
For changing intro text or the copy at the bottom of the Events Gallery page, go to ‘Options’ in left hand black margin, where you’ll see the existing copy somewhere around the middle of this catch-all edit page.
Please keep checking this page as it's updated frequently with details of new events.
