A historical, Christmas tour of E.W. Pugin’s Victorian, Manchester masterpiece
Discover the history of E.W. Pugin’s neo-gothic treasure and walk in the footsteps of the Franciscans on this special Christmas tour. This volunteer-guided tour offers a fascinating insight into the life and work of the friars who created this much-loved place of worship, and important example of Victorian architecture.
Learn about the rise, decline and fall of The Monastery and its magnificent restoration, as our guided tour brings this incredible story to life. Come and find out what makes this famous Manchester landmark so special and enjoy an interesting and enlightening experience, steeped in local history & national heritage.
Fast Facts
- Tickets for this tour are £13.50 and include festive refreshments
- This is a walking tour of The Monastery and takes 1.5hr approx in total (1 hr tour, plus half an hour for refreshments)
- Tours take place on Mondays 1st & 8th December, 2025, at 10:30am or 1pm
- Recommended for adults and children aged 12+
- Each tour has a capacity of 15
